
BERNARDS TWP. – The following results, for the week of Nov. 29 through Dec. 4, were provided by The Pingry School, a private school, which is located in Basking Ridge.
The Pingry girls ice hockey team opened its season with a commanding 10-1 win over Princeton High on Tuesday, Nov. 30. Pingry sophomore Charlotte Diemar had a hat trick plus one assist, while three of Pingry’s freshmen (Alexis Glasofer, Annabel Fassnacht, and Lizzy Nikitin) scored their first career varsity goals.
On Friday, Pingry dropped a close 5-3 contest to last year’s co-state champion, Summit. Pingry sophomore Grace Fernicola scored late in third to get Big Blue back in the game, but Summit’s deep bench held off the comeback attempt.
The Pingry boys ice hockey team lost its season opener to Morristown Beard, 3-2, on Thursday, Dec. 2. Pingry fought hard to climb out of a 2-0 hole, and almost tied it with a full ice slap shot buzzer beater at the end of the third, but the ref called it “no goal.” Pingry freshman Joaquin Stevenson assisted on both of Big Blue’s goals.
On Friday, Pingry boys ice hockey fell to Hunterdon Central, 4-1, at Flemington Ice Arena.
Pingry boys squash team opened its season with a 6-1 home victory against Blair Academy on Wednesday, Dec 1.
Pingry got its season off to a strong start with a dominant 112-58 win over Montgomery High School on Thursday, Dec. 2.
Pingry boys swim team lost its season opener on Thursday, Dec. 2. Pingry won the 200 IM, 50 Free, 100 Fly, 500 Free, 200 Free Relay, and the 400 Free Relay.
