
Four players remain as we enter the semi-final stage of the women’s CIB Squash Open Black Ball 2021. Play will start at 20:00 (GMT+2) from the Black Ball Sporting Club in Cairo.
Giant killer Georgina Kennedy from England will be taking on World No.1 Nour El Sherbini in the first semi-final. Followed by No.3 seed Hania El Hammamy taking on World No.2 Nouran Gohar.

Semi-final line up for the CIB Squash Open Black Ball 2021
Nour El Sherbini vs Georgina Kennedy
This will be the first meeting between El Sherbini and Kennedy on the PSA World Tour. Kennedy admitted that she loves to test herself against the world’s top players and is looking forward to this likely fast paced and quality affair with the World No.1.

England’s Kennedy has reached the semi-final stage without dropping a game so far in her three matches in the event. She defeated two compatriots in round one and two, beating Lucy Turmel and World No.5 Sarah-Jane Perry respectively.
Her quarter final match saw her defeat rising Egyptian star Farida Mohamed in a competitive three games, but faces the toughest task of her career tonight against the World No.1.
El Sherbini has also not dropped a game on her way through to the last four. The reigning World Champion eased past World No.14 Nele Gilis in round two before ending Nour El Tayeb’s return to action 3-0 in the quarter finals.

Hania El Hammamy vs Nouran Gohar
This will be the eighth meeting between the two young Egyptians on the PSA World Tour. Gohar has been dominant over El Hammamy in all clashes winning all seven previous encounters.

El Hammamy is another player reaching the semi-final stage without dropping a game. She has impressed on both appearances in this event, defeating two compatriots Nada Abbas and No.8 seed Rowan Elaraby respectively in stylish fashion.
Recent US Open champion Nouran Gohar made light work of France’s Coline Aumard in round two, only needing 28 minutes to defeat the 32-year-old. Gohar was then able to better World no.8 Salma Hany in four games to take her place in the semi-finals.
